On Monday, June 22, Bryan Cutler of Lancaster County was elected by a bi-partisan unanimous vote to the position of Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Representative Cutler has been an exemplary Majority Leader this past session. He has always had an open door and a listening ear for architects in Pennsylvania. During his tenure in office, he has been a champion for issues facing the construction and design industries. We look forward to working closely with Speaker Cutler and know that he will continue to make great progress bringing people and parties together as he presides over the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
Representative Kerry Benninghoff of Centre County has been elected Majority Leader of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Representative Benninghoff has been a great friend to AIA Pennsylvania and we look forward to working with Leader Benninghoff and his caucus on issues impacting architects and the construction industry in Pennsylvania.
Representative Donna Oberlander of Clarion County has been selected to serve as Majority Whip of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Representative Oberlander is the second woman to ever assume the position of Majority Whip and we look forward to working with her on all issues related to architects and the construction industry in Pennsylvania.
On behalf of our nearly 3,000 members, The American Institute of Architects of (AIA) Pennsylvania congratulates Speaker Cutler, Leader Benninghoff, and Majority Whip Oberlander!
