Dive into the Latest AIA YAF Connection Issue Focusing on EDI

AIA PA Members Named Among 2020 Class of LEED Fellows

Two AIA Pennsylvania members are among only twenty-five individuals from across the globe that have earned the distinction of LEED Fellow. Michael Pavelsky, AIA, of the Sheward Partnership, LLC and R. Jeffrey Straub, AIA of Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates Architects are recognized for their mastery of LEED, the world’s most widely used green building rating system, and exceptional work in advancing green building practices.

Bill Bates, FAIA, Featured in Pittsburgh Magazine

William (Bill) Bates, FAIA, 2019 AIA President and 2x AIA PA President, was recently featured by Pittsburgh Magazine for “Meet the People Working to Preserve Pittsburgh.” Bill is cited as a visionary proponent of historic preservation. He argues historic preservation is a key element of cultural and economic development, “The idea is it starts to generate tourism, and then businesses can spring up around it that benefit from that kind of redevelopment,” he says. “And it can really help those communities.”

KSS Promotes Ryan Drummond, AIA, to Associate

Ryan Drummond, AIA, is one of five KSS employees elevated to Associate. Ryan is well-versed in all project phases from concept design through construction administration thanks to his broad experience spanning smaller-scale renovations to large new construction projects. Known for his profound consideration of all parties involved on a project from clients and consultants to constractors and suppliers, Ryan is experienced in producing high-quality document sets while carefully coordinating the complexity of multiple disciplines.
