AIA Pennsylvania Grants Scholarships to Women’s Leadership Summit

AIA Pennsylvania will be well represented at the upcoming AIA Women’s Leadership Summit (WLS) set for the end of September in San Jose, CA.

Back in April, chapter leadership dedicated funding for three members to attend the AIA Women’s Leadership Summit (WLS) and issued an inaugural call for scholarship applications open to the membership. The newly formed AIA Pennsylvania Women in Architecture Committee leadership reviewed the applications and awarded the following three members with full scholarships to attend the 2022 Summit.

  • Parva Markiw, AIA
  • Melanie Ngami, Assoc. AIA
  • Erin Roark, AIA

Two additional members were awarded funds to cover the WLS registration.

  • Esra Abumounshar, Assoc. AIA
  • Amanda Bonelli, AIA

The Summit is the largest event for women architects and designers in the country. Annually, the gathering brings diverse women leaders together to focus on: firm leadership, business knowledge, networking, career management, and personal empowerment. Combating burnout and advocating for better work-life balance models, previewed in “Experts weigh in on tackling mental health in architecture” is an anticipated highlight of the Summit. We look forward to sharing the scholarship recipients’ takeaways.

Interested in attending the WLS on scholarship? AIA Pennsylvania has committed to funding future scholarships. The chapter will be accepting applications for 2023’s Fall Summit in Spring of 2023.
