Senior Housing News has announced the winners and runners-up of the annual Senior Housing News (SHN) Architecture & Design Awards, and four firms based in or with offices in Pennsylvania are recognized for improving the lives of seniors through innovative design. Pennsylvania’s senior population is growing at a rate 20 times faster than the overall population. By 2025, more than one in five Pennsylvania residents will be 65 or older, according to population projections from the U.S. Census and the Pennsylvania State Data Center
Communities across the country and globe submitted new construction and renovation projects in 2022, vying for top honors across 15 categories: 55+, Affordable Housing, Assisted Living, Continuing Care Retirement Community/Life Plan Community, CCRC/LPC Lite, Dining Renovation, Hospice, Independent Living, International, Renovation / Repositioning (Building), Renovation / Repositioning (Campus), Skilled Nursing/Post-Acute Care, Small Footprint, Standalone Memory Care, and Wellness: Health & Fitness.
