Deck Materials and Sustainable Design (1LU|HSW)

Composite decking materials have become a viable and affordable choice in commercial and residential applications, resilient to the elements and sustainable over time. In this course we will introduce traditional and alternative deck surface materials and explore exterior deck design and construction strategies to ensure maximum lifespan, contributing to sustainable design efforts.
Join experts from Oldcastle APG as they summarize green building benefits of composite decking and creating safe and healthy outdoor spaces per today’s code standards, as well as best practices for moisture resistance, slip resistance, thermal expansion, hardness and weight, load capacity and more.

Meet the Presenters
Lainie Sleppin – Regional Director | MoistureShield
Lainie Sleppin has worked in the NJ/NY metro areas selling decking since 2000. She has worked in
various channels of the decking industry from manufacturing to distribution to front line homeowner
decking sales. Over the last two decades she has been an active participant in NADRA (North American
Deck and Rail Association) where she has been recognized for her efforts in the industry.
Lainie joined MoistureShield in August of 2019 and was most recently promoted to the Regional
Director’s role for the Northeast Region.
Jill Robertson – Regional Sales Director | MoistureShield
Jill Robertson has worked in the Outdoor Living category for over 20 years. She has worked with
distribution across the US and Canada for manufacturers of water gardening, lighting and now
composite decking. Jill joined the MoistureShield team in the Spring of 2019 as a Regional Sales Director
for the Midwest and Canada.
