Stambaugh Ness Webinar: “The Two-Edged Sword of Succession Planning”
January 18 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Presented by Stambaugh Ness Principal Stephen H. Klunk, CPA
For most professionals and small business owners their life’s work provides their life’s wealth creation as well. After a successful career the entrepreneur looks to enjoy retirement, but never loses sight of the business he or she may have created, fostered its growth, and the culture that contributed to success. When the time arrives to step away, a well-planned exit involves allowing the thriving business to remain viable and the shareholder comfortable in his or her retirement. With adequate forethought and documentation, a smooth transition can result for both parties. The intent here is to “see the other side” from both viewpoints and arrive at the appropriate compromise.
- The effect on the outgoing shareholder / owner
- The impact on the organization
- Merging divergent objectives to determine alternatives to resolve the counterpoints
