A. Summary

The Architect / Project Manager is responsible for successfully realizing the project design, managing its execution from schematic design through construction completion. Overseeing the development of detailed design and construction documents, the Architect / Project Manager will contribute to project success through clear communication, effective prioritization, attention to schedule and budget, thorough coordination, and diligent quality control. A professional attitude, demonstrating integrity and care are critical when representing the firm to colleagues, clients and the community. This position reports to the Firm Principals and Project Architect.


B. Primary Responsibilities

1. Facilitate the planning and management of the project work flow, coordinating with administrative and technical staff for successful project execution to enhance firm performance.

2. Manage consultants to ensure performance, coordination and quality control.

3. Monitor and report on projects to the firm leadership.

4. Attend client meetings, provide feedback to the team and manage actionable items.

5. Ensure frequent, regular design team communication to share information, cultivating a positive and effective team work environment.

6. Provide accountable leadership that advances the client relationship.

7. Establish the timing of key decisions and project milestones to meet established deadlines.

8. Implement best practices utilizing established processes, reference standards, tools, templates, and technology to achieve competitive advantage, superior service delivery and productivity.

9. Capture and record key decisions, documents and project records.

10. Train and mentor staff under your supervision.


C. Requirements

1. Licensed Architect with minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including in a project management role.

2. Knowledge of typical building codes and standard construction techniques.

3. LEED Accreditation preferred.

4. Ability to be client facing with strong verbal and written communication skills.

5. Proficiency with Building Information Modeling (Revit and/or ArchiCAD), proficiency in Microsoft Office.

6. Excellent organizational abilities.

7. Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills.
