Chitika is a recent B.Arch graduate from Carnegie Mellon University, where she served as 2019-20 Chapter President at AIAS CMU. The city and communities of Pittsburgh have played a significant role on her student work and her professional outlook, as exemplified in her fifth-year thesis, which proposed a set of community-oriented uses for disused public school buildings in Pittsburgh. As a community member, she has worked to give back as a student leader and, more recently, as a teacher at Assemble, a Pittsburgh non-profit focussed on STEAM-based learning. As she begins her journey towards licensure, she hopes to pursue meaningful community engagement, and realize social and environmental justice through thoughtful architecture.
