2025-2027 EPiC Chair Position Available!

AIA Pennsylvania is now accepting applications for the Emerging Professional Committee (EPiC) Chair 2025 – 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and advocate for the committee’s initiatives while engaging with AIA and making a meaningful impact in the community. In this role, you will represent all emerging professionals, including AIAS members and young architects throughout Pennsylvania. Alongside other committee members, you will set new goals and develop innovative programming that fosters growth, builds relationships, and enhances involvement in the profession.

Term Commitment:

(2) years

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare agendas for EPiC’s monthly meetings 
  • Attend and lead EPiC’s monthly meetings 
  • Provide support and direction on all Emerging Professional Committee’s initiatives such as EPiC Firm Recognition, ARE Paula Maynes Grant, EPiC school visits , and local/statewide PALM
  • Nominate candidates for AIA PA’s Special Awards Young Architect and Emerging Professional 
  • Set goals for EPiC 
  • Create and foster committee’s relationship with all local chapters 
  • Plan (1) Emerging Professional meeting IRL per year (This could expand to include those outside the Emerging Professional Committee).
  • Provide leadership and direction for future programs and events
  • Collect and discuss with the committee key issues Emerging Professionals face.
  • Assist EPiC’s leadership members with mission and tasks.

Nomination Requirements:

Nominees must be an AIA Pennsylvania member in good standing and need to be licensed 10 years or less or a young professional on the path to licensure. 

All candidates for shall provide the information listed below: 

A letter of interest regarding the position. The letter should express the candidates goals and objectives for serving in this role.

A resume or biography summarizing candidate’s background, including education, professional history and service to the profession.

Letter of recommendation from current employer. The letter should include acknowledgment and support of the expected time commitment while expressing the candidates strengths for this role.

Submission Deadline – 5pm on November 29, 2024. 

The Nominating Committee will review candidates and provide final recommendation to the AIA PA Board of Directors for approval.

The approval will take place on December 12th at an AIA PA Board meeting.
