During the full meeting of the Capitol Preservation Committee on April 9th, AIA Pennsylvania proudly presented the prestigious 50 Year Timeless Architecture Award to the Pennsylvania State Capitol. This honor recognizes the Capitol’s enduring design excellence and its lasting contribution to Pennsylvania’s architectural heritage.

Frank Grauman, FAIA, LEED AP, head of AIA PA’s 50 Year/Timeless Award Committee and lead researcher and producer of the accompanying award video, presented the honor. In his remarks, Grauman reflected on the Capitol’s legacy, emphasizing the importance of preserving “Pennsylvania’s Palace of Art” for generations to come.

Originally dedicated in 1906, the Capitol remains a symbol of democratic ideals and artistic achievement, and AIA Pennsylvania is honored to celebrate its legacy alongside the leaders and stewards who continue to preserve this architectural treasure.
