Eric Booth

As President of Desmone, an architecture and interior design firm with offices in Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia, Eric Booth strategizes, innovates and implements through all facets of the company. Eric strives to elevate the perception of the architecture profession by structuring the design process around the fundamental reason a building is constructed: to serve people. This conviction is evident as Eric led the Desmone team to pioneer the design and construction of a 25,000 SF office addition, Pittsburgh’s first WELL Gold certified office space.

After graduating from Cornell University, Eric became a Partner of a large architecture and engineering firm in Maryland. After relocating to Pittsburgh in 2008, he became one of the first new Principals at Desmone in over 50 years, facilitated strategic plans, and managed the day-to-day operations prior to becoming President. Over the last 13 years, Eric has tripled the staff and expanded the partnership base to an additional 5 partners while investing in principles that diversify the firm.

For over 20 years, Eric has served the AIA through a multitude of tactical and leadership initiatives. He served on the board of AIA Chesapeake Bay and held the positions of Communications Committee Chair, Treasurer and President. He also served on the boards of AIA Maryland and AIA Pittsburgh and was a Mid-Atlantic Regional Council representative. In Pittsburgh, Eric is dedicated to economic and community development through active positions such as the City of Pittsburgh Contextual Design Advisory Panel (CDAP), Construction Legislative Council of Western PA, Northside Leadership Conference, Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, and the East Allegheny Community Council.

Eric resides with his wife and son in the historic Deutschtown neighborhood of Pittsburgh, where he designed and constructed his own rowhome.
