Originally from a rural town in Berks County, PA, Theresa has always been a multifaceted individual. Her childhood interests included softball, painting, scherenschnitte (German paper-cutting), and cats. By age 10, she was already dreaming of a career in architecture and construction. Theresa has fond memories of drawing floor plans of her future dream house with crayons and even giving her parents advice on their home renovations. By 2006, Theresa had graduated from Philadelphia University (now Thomas Jefferson University) with a Bachelor of Architecture.
Throughout her career, Theresa has been devoted to facilitating the design and construction of Life Science spaces for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. She has honed her laboratory, vivarium, and equipment planning skills, and engineered clean room designs. Theresa’s dedication to creating efficient, purpose-built spaces that help her clients do their work better is a testament to her expertise.
In March 2024, at 41 years old, Theresa finally achieved her dream of becoming a licensed architect in Pennsylvania. This is a monumental achievement for Theresa, and she is so proud to be part of the community of registered female architects. She is looking forward to attending the AIA Women’s Leadership Summit this year for the first time, and her future goals include contributing to more innovative projects in the Life Science industry and inspiring other women to pursue careers in architecture.
Theresa lives in Northwestern Pennsylvania with her husband, Adam, and two children, Rachel (6 yrs) and Samuel (4 yrs). When she’s not dedicating her time to her career and family, Theresa enjoys gardening, reading mystery novels, and acrylic painting on canvas. She still loves cats.
