AIA Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, welcomes returning and incoming members of its Board of Directors for 2024.

“Our board is made up of visionary architects and emerging professionals from across the state, increasingly representative of a broad swath of practice, career stages, and perspectives,” said Stephen Swarney, JD, Executive Director. “With their leadership, expertise, and energy, I’m confident we will continue to advance, inspire, and advocate for the profession of architecture while providing for the health, safety, and welfare of the built environment and the public.”

President Michael Metzger, AIA, accepted the gavel and presidential duties transferred from outgoing 2023 President Roger Williams at the first board meeting of 2024 in late January. Metzger is a registered architect in Pennsylvania with over 25 years of experience in the profession. A business owner, he is a founding member of the multi-disciplinary design firm Alloy5, based in Bethlehem. Michael strives to give back to his Lehigh Valley community through various philanthropic efforts and involvement. Active in AIA Eastern Pennsylvania, he has led the local AIA chapter’s board as a past President.

Metzger shared, “I am honored to serve as President and look forward to continuing my predecessor’s discussions around relevance, particularly how the chapter and profession can strengthen our relationships within the construction industry for greater collaboration, understanding, and partnerships to be better together.”
