Grant Honors Aspiring Architects for Their Dedication to the Field and Community Involvement

The Emerging Professionals Committee of the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA EPiC) is delighted to announce the recipients of the 2024 Paula Maynes ARE Grant. Established in 2015, this grant recognizes exceptional architectural graduates on their journey to licensure, celebrating their contributions to both the architectural field and their communities.
Named in memory of Paula Maynes, AIA, the grant honors her enduring legacy of mentorship and professional service. Paula, a graduate of Carnegie Mellon’s architecture program, founded Maynes Associates Architects after gaining experience with several architectural firms. Her commitment to the field was evident through her service on both the AIA Pittsburgh and AIA Pennsylvania Boards of Directors. As a respected leader, she served as President of AIA Pittsburgh in 2008, Secretary of the AIA Pennsylvania Board in 2012, and chaired the Government Affairs committee in 2010 and 2011.
In 2024, the grant recognizes two passionate emerging professionals, providing financial assistance to cover testing fees for three divisions of the ARE, totaling $705, and an additional $100 for study materials.
