Each 1.5-hour segment—one dedicated to commercial code updates and the other to residential code updates—delivers essential insights into Pennsylvania’s adoption of the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). This comprehensive course offers an in-depth overview of the key changes between the 2018 and newly adopted 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) in Pennsylvania, incorporating state-specific amendments for both commercial and residential provisions. Participants will gain critical insights into updates in Chapter 4, including the building thermal envelope, mechanical systems, service hot water, electrical power and lighting systems, as well as performance-based approaches and requirements for additional energy efficiency and total building performance. The course will also cover the best practices for air sealing, duct sealing, and mechanical ventilation to ensure code compliance on all project types.
