SHARE YOUR STORY IN DECEMBER | Every Small Firm Has a Story. What’s Yours
The AIA Pennsylvania Small Firm Exchange (SFxPA) invites architects to share the challenges, solutions, and lessons that have shaped their projects and practices during “How I Architected This.”
Has 2026 brought an interesting design challenge, project hurdle, business decision, or unexpected opportunity? Share what you encountered, how you approached it, and most importantly what you learned along the way.
We want to hear how you:
- Solved a unique design or project challenge
- Adapted your practice when circumstances changed
- Turned a problem into an opportunity
- Improved a process, workflow, or business strategy
- Learned a lesson other architects could put into practice
“How I Architected This” brings these real-world experiences to life through an engaging exchange of ideas, lessons learned, and pivotal moments from firms across Pennsylvania.
While the Small Firm Exchange focuses on firms of 1–9 employees, we welcome insights from architects at firms of all sizes—including those who started small and successfully grew their practices. Your experience could provide exactly the insight another architect needs to tackle their next challenge.
Your experience can strengthen the small firm community.
Review the Call for Presentations and submit your story—or share this opportunity with a colleague who has a great story to tell.
What did you architect in 2026? We want to hear about it.
