What is ArchElect?

The ArchElect is a civic leadership initiative designed to empower architects, emerging professionals, and allied experts to step into public leadership rols. With training in problem-solving, systems thinking, collaboration, and long-term planning, architects are uniquely equipped to advocate for communities and help shape policies that serve the public good.

Through ArchElect, participants gain the knowledge, confidence, and resources needed to engage in civic life – weather that means running for office, supporting local government, or advancing policy that strengthens communities and the built environment.

Do I Have to Run for an Elected Position to Participate?

No, Participation in ArchElect does not require running for elected office.

While the program supports architects who are interested in pursuing elected positions, many participants simply want to become more engaged at a local level. Serving on boards, commissions, task forces, or advisory groups, or supporting civic initiatives that create positive change in the communities where they live and work.

ArchElect is about meeting you where you are and helping you find the right path to civic involvement.
